MB WhatsApp is a modified version of WhatsApp that brings the iPhone interface to Android. If you have ever wanted your messaging app to look like it came off an iOS device, this is the mod built specifically for that.
Everything else the big mods offer is here too privacy controls, larger file limits, a message scheduler. But the iOS look is the reason people install this one instead of the others.

What Is MB WhatsApp?
MB WhatsApp is an unofficial build of WhatsApp for Android. Its developer takes the official app, rebuilds the interface to match the iOS version, adds features Meta left out, and releases it as an APK.
The result is a phone running Android that looks like it is running iOS. Rounded panels, iPhone-style toggles, blue accent colours, the iOS emoji set, and menus laid out the way Apple lays them out.

This is not a superficial colour change. The chat screen, settings pages, contact cards, call screens and status viewer have all been rebuilt. Someone glancing at your phone would reasonably assume it was an iPhone.
Who this is actually for
Two groups tend to use it.
People who like how iOS looks but do not want to buy an iPhone. That is the obvious one, and it is most of the user base.
The less obvious group is people switching from iPhone to Android. Everything else on a new Android phone feels unfamiliar, and having the app they use most look the way it always did makes the transition easier.
If the iOS styling means nothing to you, there is no reason to choose this over GB WhatsApp Pro or FM WhatsApp. They do the same things and are more actively maintained.
Main Features
The iOS interface
The theme system is built around iPhone styling rather than offered as one option among thousands. You get iOS-style chat bubbles, the Apple emoji set, iPhone-style switches and buttons, rounded settings panels, and a call screen modelled on the iOS one.
There is also a light and dark pairing that matches how iOS handles the two, rather than the generic dark mode most mods ship.
Privacy
Customization
Beyond the iOS base, you can change fonts and text size, adjust bubble shapes and tick styles, set per-chat wallpapers, and swap the launcher icon.
The customization is organised into Home Screen, Conversation Screen and Widget sections, which makes finding a specific setting quicker than in mods that use one long list.
Sticker creation
MB includes a built-in tool for turning any photo into a sticker without a separate app. You crop, it removes the background, and the sticker goes into your pack. It is a small feature that gets used constantly.
Messaging
Message scheduler, auto reply, send to a number without saving it as a contact, pin more chats than the standard limit, and longer status updates.
Security
App lock with fingerprint, PIN or pattern. Chat lock for individual conversations. Two-step verification with a recovery email turn this on the day you install.
Anti-ban protection is present and reasonably current, though MB’s is not as aggressively maintained as GB’s or FM’s.
Media
Send images at original resolution, video without heavy compression, and files above the official limits. Photos can be sent as documents to skip processing entirely.
What’s New in the Latest Version
The current release refreshed the iOS styling to match Apple’s newer interface conventions updated switch shapes, revised panel corners, and a rebuilt call screen.
The sticker maker was improved with better background removal. Storage permission handling was fixed for Android 14 and 15, which resolved backup failures on some devices. The “who blocked me” tool was made more conservative about what it reports.
Also added: message edit history, in-chat translation, voice status clips, per-chat control of automatic downloads, and expanded group admin permissions. Anti-ban was updated against Meta’s newer detection methods.

Best Alternatives
Fouad iOS WhatsApp — the direct competitor. Same iOS-look concept, built by Fouad Mokdad, generally updated more often. If MB feels behind, this is where to look.
GB WhatsApp Pro — more features and a bigger theme store, but standard Android styling.
FM WhatsApp — lighter and faster, from the same developer as Fouad iOS.
Yo WhatsApp — if you like heavy theming but do not specifically want iOS, Yo has the deepest theme engine of any mod.
Signal — if privacy is the real goal rather than appearance. Open source, audited, no account risk.
Is MB WhatsApp Safe?
It can be reasonably safe. It cannot be verified as completely safe.
Account bans are a real risk. Using any modified client breaks WhatsApp’s terms of service and Meta looks for them. MB’s anti-ban works, but it is maintained less aggressively than the larger projects, which is worth factoring in if ban risk is your main concern.
Encryption cannot be independently verified. A modified app is built by taking a closed-source application apart. Nobody outside the developer can confirm the encryption path is fully intact. That is not proof it is broken it means nobody can prove either way, which is reason enough to keep genuinely sensitive conversations off any mod.
Fake files are the practical danger. Any APK can be altered before it reaches your phone. Scan it, compare the size against what is published, and read the permissions at install. Accessibility services and device administrator access have nothing to do with messaging.
Play Protect will warn you. That happens with any sideloaded modified app. Not automatically a sign of malware, but not something to dismiss without thought.
Do not install this if your number carries your business, your payments, or is the only way important people reach you.
What to Know Before Installing
Google Drive backup does not work. Mods cannot use it. You need a local backup stored outside the app.
Backups rarely move between mods. Each build has its own package name and signing key. A backup from GB WhatsApp will usually not restore in MB. This causes more lost chats than any other single issue.
The iOS look is not universal. Some third-party keyboards and system dialogs will still look like Android, because the mod only controls its own interface. The illusion is good, not perfect.
How to Download and Install
Back up your chats in your current app first and let it finish completely. Copy important photos and documents somewhere separate too.
Check you have at least 200 MB free. Enable “unknown sources” when Android prompts you, granting it to your browser rather than system-wide.
Open the file and read the permissions before installing. Contacts, storage, camera and microphone are expected for a messenger. Anything else is a reason to stop.
Enter your number and confirm it with the SMS code. Never share that code with anyone. No app, website or support agent needs it, and anyone asking is trying to take your account.
Restore your backup when prompted, then go through the privacy settings. Finally, go back into Android settings and turn unknown sources off again the step almost everybody forgets.
How to Update
Back up before every update. Download the newer file and install it over the existing app without uninstalling. That preserves chats, themes and settings.
Do not install a different mod over MB. The signature will not match, Android will block it, and the fix involves uninstalling which is where people lose their data.
Re-check your privacy settings afterwards, because updates frequently reset them.
Common Problems and Fixes
“App not installed.” Low storage, an incomplete download, or an unsupported Android version. Free space, restart, download again.
Signature mismatch. You are installing over a different developer’s build. Back up first, then uninstall and install fresh.
Verification code not arriving. Check number, country code and signal. Repeated requests trigger a cooldown, so wait rather than retrying.
Chats missing after restore. The backup came from another mod, or storage permission is not granted.
Interface looks wrong after updating. The iOS theme did not reapply. Go into theme settings and reapply it, rather than reinstalling.
Stickers not saving. Storage permission is blocked for the sticker folder.
Notifications delayed. Battery optimisation, every time. Allow background activity for the app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| The most convincing iOS look on Android | Anti-ban maintained less aggressively than GB or FM |
| Built-in sticker creator | Larger file than FM WhatsApp |
| Full privacy control set | Encryption cannot be independently verified |
| Well-organised settings | Real risk of account restriction |
| Who-blocked-me tool | That tool gives indicators, not proof |
| Free | Manual updates, no Drive backup |
Verdict
MB WhatsApp exists for one reason and does it better than almost anything else: it makes an Android phone look like an iPhone. If that appeals to you, this is the mod to install.
If it does not appeal to you, there is no strong argument for choosing this over the alternatives. GB WhatsApp Pro has more features. FM WhatsApp runs lighter. Fouad iOS does the same iOS trick with more frequent updates.
The risks are identical to every other mod. Your account can be restricted, the encryption cannot be verified, and updates arrive later than official ones. Looking like iOS does not change any of that.
Back up before installing, never share your verification code, and turn unknown sources back off when you are done.
